There are many wedding rituals and customs in different parts of the world. The tribal community, especially have way too weird customs in wedding. We are taking about Wodaabe tribal community in western Africa which will mind bobbling.
Story:-
The Wodaabe tribes steal the women married with other men and marry them again. We know every community in the world has different wedding practices but this is a very unique. The custom is that the first wedding is done according the men’s family wish but the second marriage is done with already married women of the community by stealing them.
Every year the Wodaabe tribes celebrate Gerewol festival. In this occasion men colour their face with beautiful design inscribed on their face and the married women are invited at this festival. Men have to dance and perform actions in front of them so that women get attracted for them. It is ensured that the husbands do not get any kind of hint that their wives are being proposed for second marriage.
Once women are convinced, the men runs away with that women and they are married with all rituals in front of community priest. These are considered as love marriages in Southern Africa and are not considered taboo.
